Once you have passed your practical test, it may be advisable to complete a Pass Plus course. This is a way of building up confidence and skills on the road, and can also reduce the cost of your insurance.
Pass Plus includes driving on dual carriageways, motorways, towns and rural roads. It also includes night driving and driving under different weather conditions. The course is an assessment of your driving and not a test. However, your instructor must be satisfied with your standard of driving in different types of road and weather conditions. Courses are carried out over a minimum of six hours.
The cost of the Pass Plus course is £120.00. At the end of the course, you will be sent a Certificate which will then entitle you to reduced insurance premiums, with participating insurance companies. A list of these insurance companies will be supplied to you by your instructor.
